Sierra Leone has an estimated population of 8.159 million. The country has been torn by wars, health issues, natural disasters and famine. Starting with the 11 years of civil war the country had from 1991 to 2002, an estimate of 10,000 children were held to be child soldiers, over 50,000 dead, over 2 million displaced and hundreds of thousands left homeless and injured. In 2014 there was the Ebola virus outbreak, it infected over 14,000 people and killing almost 4,000 people. In August 2017 the country had a Mudslide which killed over 1,000 people and leaving over 2,500 homeless.

Sierra Leone sits at the 184th position in the Human Development Index. Around 70% of the youth are unemployed or underemployed, 60% of the population lives below the national poverty line and the country has only a 48% Adult literacy rate. The country is made up of about 78% Muslim population.
We want to establish an Islamic Centre in Freetown the Capital city of Sierra Leone. This facility would consist of gender segregated schools, a mosque, primary and high school, a youth centre, Sport & recreation facilities and an orphanage home.
We want to create an Islamic environment that will help people of all ages, genders, cultures and from all walks of life.

Our aim is to target the youth and the wider community as a whole, so they can gain a better understanding and knowledge of Islam and be able to access education generally. This will also enable them to gain other knowledge and skills that will help them in other aspects of life. This environment will help promote learning, respect, discipline, being active, and opportunities to achieve their goals. We will create a safety net to ensure the youth have an alternative to the negative outcomes they face in their current circumstances.
